The only constant in the universe is change and as long as one can accept that, one's attitude becomes manageable. This is important to me because a plan I have had for eight and a half years just came crashing down, reordering my priorities.
I have been growing gourmet garlic for 25 years now and during that Time I have been fortunate enough to meet some of the most knowledgeable chemists in the field of the chemistry of garlic in the world. I have met them and had face to face discussions about garlic chemistry and have discussed things with them via telephone and email and have read their books, so while I may not have any academic qualifications to say anything, I have a pretty fair understanding of things for a layman and am generally regarded as someone who knows a little more about garlic than the average bear.
One of the things I have been wanting to do is leave behind the knowledge I have picked up and also included my own perceptions of what would happen if garlic was used this way or that way for any given situation so that long after my death people could use that information to save themselves and their families from resistant bacterial infections and survive instead or perish. My chosen vehicle for that was a MRSA patients forum where I was asked to post about garlic and how it works by the woman administrator in December of 2009. Since January of 2010, I have been posting about how garlic works and how people can use it to make their MRSA go away and gain an enhanced sense of well-being in the process.
I believe that administrator had a relapse of an earlier illness and is no longer involved with the website/forum and the current moderator has decided to shut down the forum and so my last eight and a half years of work will now be lost to the very people I had hoped would benefit from it. At first, this distressed me until I realized I had to devise another way to leave not only my knowledge of garlic but also my understanding of how and why garlic does the things it does.
Lots of people have asked me to write a book and so I have decided do it. I will almost certainly self-publish this first book and offer it for sale through the website. This first book will deal with the real health benefits of garlic and exactly why it works and exactly how to use it in order to get the most out of this ancient herbal folk remedy. It has always worked but people in antiquity did not understand how or why it worked, they just used it in various ways and some worked better than others. Now that it is understood exactly how and why it works, we can devise many creative ways of using its known properties to achieve the results we seek but through this ancient herbal folk remedy rather than modern medicine.
Why would you rather use a folk remedy instead of modern antibiotics? Because modern antibiotics are on their way out as they no longer kill harmful bacteria as well as they once did, if at all while natural (non-irradiated) garlic still kills all bacteria they come into contact with regardless of how resistant that strain is to pharmaceutical antibiotics. There will come a time in the near furure when no commercial antibiotic will be able to kill any bacteria as bacteria will have become totally resistant to antibiotics and when that happens it is going to totally change everything about the ways health care works.
What will this world be like when women can't have a Caeserian section because of the risk of a deadly infection and even a normal childbirth becomes a dangerous and risky hazard? No more elective surgery or any but the most severe, life-threatening procedures will be allowed due to the risk of an infection against which Big Med has no defense. The pharmaceutical industry has nothing under development that will replace antibiotics foe the many purposes. Millions will die from diseases that were once easily curable.
Natural (non-irradiated) garlic is naturally immune to antibiotic resistance since it kills in an entirely different, more direct way than commercial antibiotics, which must be able to chemically bond with a receptor on the outer surface of a bacterium and if it can do that, it can kill that bacterium but if it cannot bond with the receptor, it cannot kill it. The allicin in garlic does not need to bond with any receptor, it is simply drawn to the bacteria by a universal force which neither it nor the bacterium an resist and when it comes into contact with the bacterium, it penetrates into the interior of the bacterium, causing it to swell up and burst, killing it. "Bacteria cannot become resistant to that any more than you or I could become immune to being stabbed or blown up." - David Mirelman, PhD, Chemistry Dept. Chair at The Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel and widely honored for his ways of using garlic to fight intestinal parasites among other things.
This is information most folks don't know, including doctors and I see it as my job to make this information available to people and to teach them how to use it to get the best results. The alternative is unthinkable.
