I love garlic and enjoy eating it prepared in many ways just for the fun of it. The first time I ever tried pickled garlic I knew it was something special just from rush I got and how good it made me feel even though I didn't know how special it really was then. While pickled garlic is worth eating just for the taste and snacking quality alone, I have learned that there are other aspects to pickled garlic that make it even better because of how it good it makes you feel and for how long.

While eating garlic raw, cooked or processed usually results in more odorous fat-soluble compounds, pickled garlic has less odorous water-soluble compounds. Fat-solubles circulate via the lymphatic system whereas water-soluble compounds go directly into the bloodstream - that's where the rush comes from.

Recent research (Lawson and Wang, 1995) shows that garlic soaking in vinegar gains potency as it ages and that both the garlic and the vinegar have steadily increasing amounts of S Allyl cysteine for about 5 years. This means the older it gets, the better it gets and the more tart it gets and the more intense the tingle you get when you eat it. By adding a little wine,the taste can be improved and even more different water-soluble compounds are created. Buy a few spare bottles and let some of them age gracefully.

A fee of $8.00 is charged for each shipment of one pound; add one additional dollar for each pound, or any fraction of a pound, over the first pound ordered.

For example, if your order is 2 pounds, the S&H charge is $9.00 and if you order 3 pounds, the S&H charge is $10.00, etc. This same rate applies to all 50 United States.

All items in any order will be shipped as a single unit and at the same time, unless otherwise specified by the customer and separate shipping charges paid for each shipment.
